OUR SERVICES
The gum specialists at West Toronto Periodontics are here to provide you with dedicated, specialty care for your gums. Below are some of the commonly-performed gum procedures, but if you have specific needs please talk to one of our gum specialists for treatment that is tailored to you.
Implants
Dental implants for the replacement of single missing teeth up to full-arch solutions are available. A fractured front tooth has the potential of being extracted with the implant placed on the same day. Our gum specialists will assess your mouth and give you the best option for your needs
Gum grafts, bone grafts, and gum surgeries
We perform a wide array of surgical procedures to address the needs of our patients. If you are experiencing recession or thinning gums, gum grafts can reduce or eliminate recession, increase the thickness of gum tissues, and ultimately improve gum health. Bone grafts may help regenerate bone that has been lost around your teeth due to gum disease, and rebuild bony ridges prior to placement of dental implants. Other procedures commonly-performed by our gum specialists include
Crown lengthening
Sinus lifts
Pocket reduction
Frenectomy
Deep Cleaning
If you have deep pockets around your teeth where tartar easily accumulates, our experienced dental hygienists can scale these deep pockets on a routine basis, under supervision from our gum specialists, to help you improve your gum health, decrease inflammation and the risk of infection, and may help you keep your teeth longer. We can also anesthetize your gums for your cleanings to increase comfort
Treatment of gum disease and infections
Many factors lead to the loss of support for your teeth, resulting in gum disease (periodontitis). Different treatment modalities are available for both non-surgical and surgical treatment of moderate to advanced gum disease. Successful treatment may help reduce pain and discomfort, decrease the risk of infection, and extend the life of your teeth
Extractions
If a tooth cannot be saved, either due to excessive bone loss or tooth fractures, our gum specialists can help plan for its removal and offer you options for replacement. We will explain all available options to you in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
